Door Prize and Speed Paint Prize Information
Since we're getting this really fantastic collection of door prizes and paint contest prizes I thought it was time to share so that the people who are coming know what's available to win.
Door prizes are done on a ticket basis. You get tickets for attending and you get more tickets for playing games and participating in paint events. With those tickets you decide what prizes you want to try to win. So the more you do, the more chances you have to win. And you don't end up winning things that you can't use or don't interest you because you're the one picking out the prizes.
I got the idea from RockCon last year and thought it was a great way to make sure people were getting prizes they really wanted. And to give people more chances at winning.
Sponsored speed paints have prizes from the sponsors. So participants all get the mini they painted and winners get prizes as well.
| Sponsor | Prize Info |
|---|---|
| Skullcrafts | A special RastlCon All Season basing kit ! This is like all of their seasonal basing kits stuffed into a single box. I so want to keep this for myself but it's going to be a prize for the paint contest. Leaf, static grass and flock scatter packs. There's three of each so plenty of prizes to go around. |
| Miniature Mentor | Three copies of their "Complete Guide to Miniature Painting" DVDs. Highly recommended. |
| Dick Blick | Everyone's favorite online supplier of quality art supplies sent two sets of DaVinci Kolinski sable brushes in just the right sizes for miniature painting. One set will be a painting prize - speed paint perhaps? |
| Bronze Age Minis | Bronze Age stepped up and is sponsoring the paint-and-take as well as a speed paint contest. They sent along three wonderful prizes for the winners of their speed paint contest. |
| Iron Wind Metals | Iron Wind sent along minis for the paint-and-take and they're sponsoring a speed paint contest as well. There's a fantastic guardian dragon as the first prize for the speed paint contest! |
| Higher Ground Games | Higher Ground has kinds of Hirst Arts kits to build your own terrain. To get your interest going we've got a bunch of 'brick bags' so you can see what all the fuss is about. And as a special, wonderful, envy-of-all-your-friends prize is a Descent board made completely from Hirst Arts some assembly required. This is a must-have! |
| Jennifer Haley | Jennifer painted a fantastic Dark Sword mini just for RastlCon. See the images here. |
| John Keebler (KeeblerOrc) | John makes the most bestest laser cut and resin cast accessories you've seen in ages. He's sent a box packed full of them. Including the absolutely awesome Stargate kit. |
| Dave Barlow (Abaroth's World) | Dave sent his Ice Pond diorama all the way over from England to give to one of you lucky attendees. |
| Reaper Miniatures | More paint-and-take goodness, another sponsored speed paint contest with cool prizes. What more can you ask for? |
| Rockheads Games | This is my local store. They donated a special edition Star Trek Original Series vendor only collector edition phaser and communicator. This is the limited edition WHITE HANDLE phaser. And they make noise! |
| Miniature Market | Printed in the program will be a special discount code to be used on any orders from them. I know what it is but I'm not telling. |
| Back2Base-ix | These guys we cool enough to say 'pick out what you want' and I so did. I picked out some fun prizes. |
The links and such will be added to the table above in the next few days. There's just so many!
